Cut Down is Always recommended in this matchup. You will proc it lvl 1 onwards if she starts any Doran's items.
Overview
Matchup Tip: Use Quinn E to cancel Riven's 3rd Q in mid air, and only use E in this matchup for this interaction. This cancels her knock back and pushes you back to safety.
Level 1: Stand in the bush level 1 and auto riven, but be careful if she starts Q. I would be cautious of E until you see the abillity that she starts because if she Qs you after you use E she will do a good trade. If she starts E, instantly run her down. If she starts Q, use E to cancel her 3rd Q in mid air.
Level 2: Play the lane to slow push, and then crash the cannon wave. Zone Riven off of EXP if you can because she can't play the early levels against you.
Level 3-5: Riven's best play is to flash stun you, so be cautious of this if you are low. Trading flashes with Riven is good because her biggest outplay potential is flash W-ing you before using her Qs to then engange on you. Her W range is so short so it's extremly hard for her to land this on you.
Level 6: If Riven Rs, try blinding her to then do a blind juke if possible. You can buy a lot of time and make her Q in the wrong direction if you do this, which will screw her over. Otherwise, when she Rs on you, save E for her 3rd Q and then you will be safe. Don't stand too close to her because if you do, she can stun you before you get to E her 3rd Q.
What To Do
Quinn's kit counters Riven hard. First, Quinn E can Cancel Riven's Qs.
If Riven tries to engage on you, you MUST save your vault for her 3rd Q ideally because otherwise, if you vault her Q1 or Q2, she will have more Qs to chase you after, and she can still knock you up with her Q3.
If you use vault in the animation of her 3rd Q, you will cancel this ability and push you to safety and prevent her W stun.
Only Riven's 3rd Q knocks you up anyway, and that's the one that you can cancel. :)
Really the only way Riven can use her W on you is if she is close to you, then she dashes and Ws you early on with her first few Qs and Es.
Just stay composed and save vault for that 3rd Q always and you will be okay. If you cancel riven's 3rd Q (and if her E is down of course), make sure to retaliate with big trades because she will no longer have ANY gap closers.
When she has R, be careful of her Flash-W because this is the only way she can land her W on you.
